Sums can make a child’s head spin but they’re much easier to understand when children are given visual counting aids. Your preschooler can practice doing some addition to 10 sums using the adorable bunny number slider that comes with the worksheet.

Below are the supplies I use personally at home. After doing so many printable activities, I’ve found that it’s most helpful to always have these basic supplies on hand.

Start It Up
Print out and laminate the number slider and the individual counting tokens. There are 4 included so you can do one or all of them. The Easter eggs would be perfect for this time of the year – a color version and a black and white one that your child can decorate themself are included. Otherwise, you can use the carrot or the arrow.
Use a paperclip to attach the laminated token to the laminated number slider, which goes from 0 to 10. It should be easily movable when laminated.
Print out the addition to 10 worksheet provided and show your child or student how to use the slider. They can then use it to help derive the answer to the sum by counting the bunnies required for each question.

Level It Up
Once they have mastered the use of the slider, then you can give them more sums to work out.
You can even try adding 3 numbers like 1+3+5.
