Set It Up

For this activity you will need:

  • Paper and printer

  • Marker to draw in the hands of the clock

  • Optional but recommended: laminator and dry erase markers to make them durable and reusable

Below are the supplies I use personally at home. After doing so many printable activities, I've found that it's most helpful to always have these basic supplies on hand.

Start It Up

Print out the cards and show the pictures to your child. Explain that you'll be drawing in the time of day they should be doing that activity.

If your child is older or is learning how to read time then this is good practice for them.

Otherwise, just ask them to match the clock picture with the real clock to ‘read’ the time and figure out what they should be doing.

No need for you to use all the cards, obviously – just print the relevant ones.

Laminating them is a good idea as this will make them sturdier should you wish to display them somewhere. They will also be waterproof should you wish to put the washing face or bath time cards in the bathroom. Finally, laminating them and using dry erase markers means that you can easily change the time as your routine needs change too.

Level It Up

Get your child involved in planning the routine and even drawing in the times on the clock face if they understand how.

Pair It Up

These routine cards would go great with something like Melissa and Doug’s magnetic chore chart.
